The Silver Dragoons

((Howdy folks! For those of you who were at the meeting the other day, you'll notice that Pinapple Peppercog was promoted to the Liuetenant rank, and with that, I've joined the ooc officer team. I'm very happy to help make this guild run a bit more smoothly and ensure that you guys have fun.

That being said, and without getting to specifics, my life and schedual is slightly odd until fall sets in. As such, I really cannot be online past thirty minutes into the guild meetings, and I recognise that makes things difficult for a lot of you who enjoy post meeting rp.

That being said, I want to do my best to serve you folks as a facilitator for rp, and help out with any concerns you have oocly and ICly, not to mention, as an rper, I love to get whatever rp time my hectic schedual allows.

So, how best to get a hold of me?

1: The best way to get a hold of me so I can coordinate with you in game is to send me a PM, and I can give you my expected times online, and possibly set a backup if something comes up and I cant make it (note: when something comes up I will always either pm you on the site or contact someone who's in game to tell you.

2:My usual playtimes are: Tues, friday, saturday and sunday evenings, these are not set in stone, sometimes I like to spend a night in, but If I'm expected i'll do my best to make it, usually I have to take off at 9 server though, as a warning. Monday, wednesday and thursday I am very often on from 5:30-7:20 server time, give ot take 10 minutes.

3: I do play my alts quite often, my characters are always in the dragoons channel, their names are: Wiemar, Darlain, Silda, and Xillia.

Note: I'm am usually more than happy to drop whatever i'm doing and rp with you, there is -no- need to be shy about asking me too, i'm more than happy to ditch a random dungeons (provided none of my friends or guildmates are in the group too) Rest assured i'd almost always prefer rping.

If you need help with organizing a plotline, batting around a character concept, or if you had a dispute or disagreement oocly, I'm more than happy to speak with you, feel free to look me up or send me a pm.

Things'll settle down for me a bit come octoober though, so just bear with me for now, I do apologise for any inconveniences my wacky schedual causes.))

The Meddlers are hosting a party at Aerie Peak, 7 bells in the evening on Saturday the 14th of April to celebrate saving the world from the ravages of the Destroyer and his Twilight Cult! Deathwing has been taken down with help from The Silver Dragoons and The Meddlers, working as part of the defense force of Wyrmrest Temples and the strike team against Deathwing himself, protecting the Aspects as they gave all of their powers to ensure the safety of Azeroth. To all the Dragoons who have participated in this endeavor, and those who gave support in other ways, all of our gratitude.

The Age of Mortals has begun; let us all work together to give it a good start!

((The 7th of April was the first Meddlegoon kill of "Madness of Deathwing!" I don't typically like being 'the ones' who did something like this in RP, but if people were avoiding having the event occur yet in personal RP canon, there are now characters in our combined guilds who have participated and RPed a kill (there may be story posts here/Haven/Meddlers forum). The cinematic related to the event can be found by the memorial in Stormwind.

Don't worry too much about the RP either; it's all sorts of fluid to allow people their own chances at the Big Bad (I like imagining various Alliance and Horde players outside our 10 person group are around for Final Boss kills, like Lich King and now Deathwing)!

We'll take a few more shots at Deathwing, and will continue running Dragon Soul for now, as well as achievement/transmog runs to older content until Mists of Pandaria comes out. As usual, check the sign up listings at meddlers.ca!

((A) I took time today to post a ton of weekly RP events on the in-game calendar; hopefully it'll remind people when social RP events are happening!

B) The proposed storyline is slowly starting up; if anyone has ideas or their own plot wrinkles to add, check with Alynore, October, or Harrigan to see how it can all mesh together, and then post any RP/stories into the "Humbled Service" thread (if also posting on RP-Haven, please use the Storyline tag in your posts if possible!). It's not strictly necessary, but it makes it easier to find the plot-related happenings, and doesn't drown other, unrelated creative posts in our little forum (I like tidy forums, sue me).

C) I also added the "MeddleGoon Raids" that happen each weekend. This is a joint effort by both Meddlers and Dragoons to see current, Normal-level endgame content. Sometimes we delve into older content for achievements and RP stuff.

If a Dragoon wishes to join in on these weekly raids, go to the Meddler website and sign up; let Dolraan (aka Goeffrey/Drogar/Hlin/Vasily/Vetusunus/etc) or Finkswitch know your user name so they don't spam-filter you. Watch for Drogar's raid posts for the next weekend to go up, click on the "signups" link, and if necessary, leave a comment about what character you'll be bringing, ask questions, etc. Simply leaving a comment does not ensure a raid position; you must click the event sign up link in the post.

Speak to Dolraan about any ilvl requirements. We are a casual group, but it is still each raider's responsibility to be gemmed, enchanted, and reforged. We have JCers, LWers, Blacksmiths, and Enchanters who can give you what you need! Don't worry about costs for those, but also don't wait until raid start to ask for needed enhancements. Check sites such as Ask Mr. Robot for help determining what you need. There's also a post here in the forums that can be used to find--or post!--help guides. Having a main raider character is preferred; we only allow alts when content is no longer current, or for certain players who have specifically geared to fill in needed positions at the raid lead's request.

We only progression raid 10 man, so at times players will be sidelined for space. How does the Standby System work? If you sign up and Drogar cannot fit you into the raid, you get placed on "Standby." On raid night, you show up online as normal, ready for raiding, not in another instance, available in case the raid needs you (someone can't make it, computer troubles, feels ill, etc.). If no one needs to be substituted, Drogar awards you a "Standby Credit." This means that next weekend when raid signups are posted, if you sign up for that raid instance again (you were standby for Dragon Soul, you sign up for next weekend's Dragon Soul), you are given priority for a raid slot. This ensures people who want to raid can if we have too many each week.

It's possible to choose Standby. In this case, you're ready for raid if needed, but otherwise may not be able/willing to go if others are more anxious to raid than you. If the raid begins and you're not needed on a night that you chose standby, you are not awarded a credit.

Meddlers use a Ventrilo server; the details are given when you first join the raid. You don't have to talk, but it's good to at least listen for briefings, fight info, etc. Like the chat channels, it is PG/PG-13 language, be polite, listen to the raid leader.

Loot rules: The Master Looter asks for main spec rolls first, then offspec, then Transmog/RP before it's sharded. Everyone gets to try a main spec roll until they win something; if everyone's won something main spec, the rolls open up again. Same with offspec. Priority is usually given to whoever hasn't gotten an item that night, except for Transmog/RP rolls, or in the case of older content where only one or two new characters can use the gear. Currently, Dragon Soul Legendary Rogue dagger items are going to Finkswitch, but we may start other people on stage 2 once he's past that point. In Firelands, Henii-Twizzle-Alalandaria are working on staves, but we may only complete Henii's for now.

If people want to help contribute (even if they don't raid!), enchant mats are generally sent to Dolraan or Alynore, gems to Dolraan, and mats for flasks and feasts are sent to the Meddler Guild Bank (via Alynore or Dolraan).

((Please check out this post on the general forum and try to give a response. The officers are always looking for ways to keep the guild moving forward, but we want to know what our members also think and would be OK with!))

On the evening of Feb 13th, Corporal Giulietta Rossini will be leading a small expedition up to the Plaguelands to assist the locals reclaiming the area. These Alliance citizens are having trouble with the excessive vermin that have spung up and thrived since Lordaeron's fall. Other opportunities to help both settlers and the Argent Crusade may arise from this task. The responsible use of incendiaries is highly encouraged. See Corporal Rossini for more details.

((IC guild trip to the Plaguelands to kill critters to get us a few steps closer to the Critter Kill Squad achievement, which gives guild members access to an Armadillo companion pet. We may also try for guild runs of Scholomance and both sides of Stratholme while we're at it.

You might wish to bring lower level gear if you have it to make things not quite a slaughterfest (and to look pretty!).

IC props of incendiaries and other pest-control methods as we rush the tunnel and other areas are more than welcome! The zanier the better!))

This is going to take place post meeting on Wednesday, January 25th. BE THERE OR BE SQUARE.

There will be a training mission to the Titan ruins of Ulduar on Saturday, January 14 at 7 pm. This mission will instruct Dragoons on not only Titan engineering and how it's shaped our world, but also the effects of the Old Gods--even imprisoned ones--on the Titans' creations and the dangerous repercussions that had on the Northern War. Dress warmly!

((Dragoon characters prefered to try for a guild achievement, but other alts are welcome. This raid has a 10 man limit (8 required to make it a guild run). If there are a lot of folks wanting to come, we can up to 25 man (though likely won't get the 80% necessary for a guild run).

*Characters must be at least lvl 80 to enter the raid. Lvl 85 character are encouraged to wear their normal gear to help speed things up.

*We will NOT be blitzing through. This is an RP instance; slow down, and if someone asks to stop to look at things or type convo, that's the priority. We may try for a few achievements for people, though.

*If you have time, do Storm Peaks and the related 5 man instances in it; the entire zone and instance storyline feeds into Ulduar, and is just really good.

*Turning on game music is a requirement. Trust me on this. There's some voice acting. The whole atmosphere is fantastic.

*We'll share Meddler Vent info. You don't have to speak and can just listen, but it's handy for OOC explanations and just clean chatter. Meddler vent is PG and follows the same rules as their chat channel.

*Need on items you want for RP, Transmog, etc. There are possible mount drops as well. If you don't want something then click Greed, Disenchant, or pass. This is old content so no need for loot drama or being worried about "taking" something from someone. We're here for RP and to show the instance to new people who have never experienced one of the best raids in the game!))

1)The Dragoon's private holiday party will be after the meeting on December 21st. It will be a low key affair for new and established members to mingle. There will be refreshments, and uniform is not required. Relax and meet your fellow Dragoons!

2) Dragoons still need to see Lt Cerwis about scheduling PT tests. She will hold impromptu tests at meetings until she has everyone's scores if she must. Check with members of the Angel Wing for physicals and mental evals.

3) Sometime after the new year there will be a Fight Night. No weapons (or claws), no armor, close quarters combat with fellow Dragoons (and a few authorized guests). Any Dragoon participant is fair game; even recruits can tussle with the Commander if they choose.

4) Also some time after the new year, Lt Alynore has tentative plans for a training mission to Ulduar. This mission will focus on Titan history and Old God resistance, very relevant issues in today's battles.

((The holiday party is just social RP mixer for members to meet IC. We've got a lot of new folks, try to attend and get to know people if holiday obligations aren't eating you! PT tests and physicals can, as always, be handled offscreen if desired. Just forward results to Cerwis. The run around the city is usually fun though! If you aren't sure what good scores would be, the Army PT page is what we normally use for guidelines. Fight Night & Ulduar info will be solifdified once holidays settle a bit. Fight Nights are generally emote battles in the Garden, standing in for DragoonHall.

Unrelated: There was a recent roster clean up of inactive members. As stated in our OOC policies, we demote and eventually remove inactive accounts if we have no communication of long absence. An inactive account was recently hacked, and various MeddleGoons caught it quickly, but we decided to clean up other accounts as well to be safe. If your characters were removed, you can always contact an officer for re-invite. There should be no loss of guild rep and perks unless you join another guild. Real Life happens, and absences are fine, but we are concerned about our members and like a heads-up if possible. Remember, too, that characters are generally assumed to be doing normal duties in the background unless we're told they're MIA, etc, ahead of time.))

Investigation by Dragoons and our new deputies suggests that Ichabod the Evil Jack-o-Lantern has trapped Counselor October Strangewayes in the Tower of Karazhan in Deadwind Pass. The former home of the Guardian Medihv, this haunted tower sits on a powerful convergence of leylines, and is reportedly a window into the Twisting Nether itself. Once our precautions are in place, a team of Dragoons will be inserted to rescue Dragoon Strangewayes.

((This should take place at 7 server time on Sunday the 20th. Dragoon characters prefered to try for a guild achievement, but other alts are welcome. This raid has a hard cap 10 man limit (8 required to make it a guild run).

*Characters must be at least lvl 70 to enter the raid. Lvl 85 character are encouraged to wear lower level armor if they have it (within the level range).

*We will NOT be blitzing through. This is an RP instance; slow down, and if someone asks to stop to look at things or type convo, that's the priority.

*Turning on game music is a requirement. Trust me on this. Voice acting from bosses also happens, and ambience sounds; the whole atmosphere is fantastic.

*We'll share Meddler Vent info. If they are raiding, we'll use a second "room" on that server. You don't have to speak and can just listen, but it's handy for OOC explanations and just clean chatter. Meddler vent is PG and follows the same rules as their chat channel.

Time will be set aside for others to speak and tell stories about their lives then and now.
Open to all members of the Alliance.

((Logically, the Exodus would've taken place much earlier than the 7th as that was the patch where the Worgen first showed up, but it's an easy date to pin an event to.))
